Project 52 : Sky

Can you imagine what early humans must have thought when they witnessed a solar eclipse?  There are some pretty amazing mythologies on the subject, and each are equally fascinating because they tell a unique story about the people experiencing them.  Even having been prepared for this incredible event, the affect it had on me came from somewhere deep within….. It was like possessing a special knowledge that connected me to the world. It connected me to the trees, the reflections moving on water, the still and quiet time of day, the buzz of bees. It connected me to the the filtered shadows from leaves dancing on the walls, and to the excited looks by children experiencing something so exceptional. I am just one person but I am a part of so much more. The above photos were taken Sunday as we shared dinner and an eclipse with friends.
